Encodes a substrate of the COP1/SPA E3 ubiquitin ligase. It is degraded in darkness and stabilized by white, red and blue light. Overexpression results in decreased apical dominance, increased branching and delayed flowering in long days. The latter phenotype is due to reduced levels of FT and dependent on the presence of CO (PMID:29187570).
