Galactosyltransferase family protein;(source:Araport11)
TAIR Curator Summary:
Encodes a Golgi-localized hydroxyproline galactosyltransferase GALT5. Functions together with GALT2 as redundant GALTs that control AGP (arabinogalactan-proteins) O-glycosylation, which is essential for normal growth and development. Mutants display multiple phenotypes including reduced root hair growth.
