Encodes a receptor for the Plant Natriuretic Peptide (At2g18660, AtPNP-A). The receptor contains a functional guanylyl cyclase catalytic center embedded in the cytosolic kinase domain. This catalytic center can convert GTP into cGMP (and PPi) which enables ligand-specific downstream signalling. It is therefore consistent with the reported cGMP dependence of AtPNP-A effects (see DOI:10.1007/s11103-016-0465-8).
