Search our database by keyword

Examples

  • Search this entire website. Enter identifiers, names or keywords for genes, pathways, authors, ontology terms, etc. (e.g. eve, embryo, zen, allele)
  • Use OR to search for either of two terms (e.g. fly OR drosophila) or quotation marks to search for phrases (e.g. "dna binding").
  • Boolean search syntax is supported: e.g. dros* for partial matches or fly AND NOT embryo to exclude a term

TAIR Computational Description: Nucleotide-diphospho-sugar transferases superfamily protein;(source:Araport11)
TAIR Curator Summary: The PARVUS/GLZ1 gene encodes a putative family 8 glycosyl transferase that contributes to xylan biosynthesis. Its gene expression shows good co-variance with the IRX3 gene involved in secondary cell wall synthesis. PARVUS/GLZ1 is predicted to have galacturonosyltransferase activity and may be involved in the formation of the complex oligosaccharide sequence present at the reducing end of xylan. PARVUS is expressed in cells undergoing secondary wall thickening, and parvus mutants have thinner cell walls.
TAIR Short Description: Nucleotide-diphospho-sugar transferases superfamily protein
TAIR Aliases: ATGATL1, GATL1, GLZ1, PARVUS
