Encodes LOB domain protein whose overexpression results in KNOX gene repression. Overexpression also results in plants with hyponastic leaves, downward pointing flowers and reduced apical dominance. May be involved in the transcriptional regulation of the homeobox gene BP (brevipedicellus) during lateral organ differentiation. Acts together with AS2 in proximal-distal symmetry determination.
