Encodes a zinc knuckle protein that negatively regulates morning specific growth. The role of TZP in hypocotyl elongation was established through a QTL analysis of BayXSha RIL populations. The Bay-0 allele contains a deletion causing a frameshift mutation. TZP is under circadian control and acts to regulate morning-specific hypocotyl growth. The mRNA is cell-to-cell mobile.
