Chromosome Location: Chr2: 13157089-13160886
Organism . Short Name: A. thaliana
TAIR Computational Description: coenzyme Q 3;(source:Araport11)
TAIR Curator Summary: The enzyme encoded by this gene has been shown to complement the Saccharomyces cerevisiae coq3 mutation and, therefore, to have hexaprenyldihydroxybenzoate methyltransferase activity. It is however likely that, in Arabidopsis, the enzyme catalyzes the methylation of nonaprenyldihydroxybenzoate as it is the prevalent polyprenoid in this plant species. The enzyme is a mitochondrial-localized methyltransferase involved in ubiquinone biosynthesis.
TAIR Short Description: coenzyme Q 3
TAIR Aliases: ATCOQ3, COQ3, EMB3002
