Search our database by keyword

Examples

  • Search this entire website. Enter identifiers, names or keywords for genes, pathways, authors, ontology terms, etc. (e.g. eve, embryo, zen, allele)
  • Use OR to search for either of two terms (e.g. fly OR drosophila) or quotation marks to search for phrases (e.g. "dna binding").
  • Boolean search syntax is supported: e.g. dros* for partial matches or fly AND NOT embryo to exclude a term

TAIR Computational Description: para-aminobenzoate (PABA) synthase family protein;(source:Araport11)
TAIR Curator Summary: ADCS encodes a protein that has two functional domains. The N-terminal domain has glutamine amidotransferase activity while the C-terminal domain has aminodeoxychorismate synthase (ADCS) activity. These two domains act together to catalyze the transformation of chorismate to 4-amino-4-deoxychorismate. This reaction is required for 4-aminobenzoate (pABA) production and ultimately for folate biosynthesis. The putative target peptide of ADCS can direct GFP to the chloroplast.
TAIR Short Description: para-aminobenzoate (PABA) synthase family protein
