Search our database by keyword

Examples

  • Search this entire website. Enter identifiers, names or keywords for genes, pathways, authors, ontology terms, etc. (e.g. eve, embryo, zen, allele)
  • Use OR to search for either of two terms (e.g. fly OR drosophila) or quotation marks to search for phrases (e.g. "dna binding").
  • Boolean search syntax is supported: e.g. dros* for partial matches or fly AND NOT embryo to exclude a term

Organism . Short Name: A. thaliana
TAIR Computational Description: NSP (nuclear shuttle protein)-interacting GTPase;(source:Araport11)
TAIR Curator Summary: Encodes a GTPase that interacts with nuclear shuttle proteins (NSPs) from a number of different plant viruses. The gene is widely expressed and NIG transcript levels do not rise in response to viral infection. This cytoplasmic protein does not directly interact with a viral movement protein (MP), but, it does promote the movement of NSP from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. Overexpression of NIG in Arabidopsis plants renders them more sensitive to geminivirus infection.
