Examples

  • Search this entire website. Enter identifiers, names or keywords for genes, pathways, authors, ontology terms, etc. (e.g. eve, embryo, zen, allele)
  • Use OR to search for either of two terms (e.g. fly OR drosophila) or quotation marks to search for phrases (e.g. "dna binding").
  • Boolean search syntax is supported: e.g. dros* for partial matches or fly AND NOT embryo to exclude a term

TAIR Computational Description: Cytochrome P450 superfamily protein;(source:Araport11)
TAIR Curator Summary: Encodes a 22α hydroxylase whose reaction is a rate-limiting step in brassinosteroid biosynthetic pathway. The protein is a member of CYP90B gene family. The stable clm allele displays a small, compressed rosette, reduced internode length, and reduced fertility, appears in selfed ddm1 mutant plants possibly due to loss of cytosine methylation. Transcripts accumulate in actively growing tissues, and GUS expression is negatively regulated by brassinosteroids. Localized in the endoplasmic reticulum. The in vitro expressed protein can perform the C-22 hydroxylation of a variety of C27-, C28- and C29-sterols. Cholesterol was the best substrate, followed by campesterol. Sitosterol was a poor substrate.
TAIR Short Description: Cytochrome P450 superfamily protein
TAIR Aliases: AtDWF4, CLM, CYP90B1, DWF4, PSC1, SAV1, SNP2
