Encodes a PHD-domain containing protein required for male meiosis. Gene is expressed in developing male meiocytes and protein is localized to nuclear euchromatin specifically during diplotene. Required to regulate microtubule organization and cell cycle transitions during male meiosis, and functions as a direct transcription activator of the meiotic gene TDM1.
