Examples

  • Search this entire website. Enter identifiers, names or keywords for genes, pathways, authors, ontology terms, etc. (e.g. eve, embryo, zen, allele)
  • Use OR to search for either of two terms (e.g. fly OR drosophila) or quotation marks to search for phrases (e.g. "dna binding").
  • Boolean search syntax is supported: e.g. dros* for partial matches or fly AND NOT embryo to exclude a term

TAIR Computational Description: methyl esterase 16;(source:Araport11)
TAIR Curator Summary: Encodes a protein shown to have carboxylesterase activity, methyl IAA esterase activity, and methyl jasmonate esterase activity in vitro. This protein does not act on MeSA, MeGA4, or MEGA9 in vitro. Although MES16 is similar to MES17, a MeIAA hydrolase, two mes16 mutant lines (SALK_151578) and (SALK_139756) do not show altered sensitivity to MeIAA in root growth assays. MES16 transcripts appear to be more than 10-fold less abundant than those of MES17 in roots.
TAIR Short Description: methyl esterase 16
TAIR Aliases: ATMES16, MES16
