  • Search this entire website. Enter identifiers, names or keywords for genes, pathways, authors, ontology terms, etc. (e.g. eve, embryo, zen, allele)
  • Use OR to search for either of two terms (e.g. fly OR drosophila) or quotation marks to search for phrases (e.g. "dna binding").
  • Boolean search syntax is supported: e.g. dros* for partial matches or fly AND NOT embryo to exclude a term

Organism . Short Name: A. thaliana
TAIR Computational Description: thiamin biosynthesis protein;(source:Araport11)
TAIR Curator Summary: Encodes a bifunctional enzyme required for thiamine (vitamin B1) biosynthesis. TH1 can phosphorylate HMP-P to produce HMP-PP, the pyrimidine heterocyclic subunit of thiamine. TH1 also catalyzes the condensation of HMP-PP and HET to form thiamine monophosphate (TMP). TH1 also appears capable of phosphorylating HMP based on E.coli mutant complementation assays. th1 mutants are thiamine auxotrophs that die as seedlings on unsupplemented media.
TAIR Short Description: thiamin biosynthesis protein, putative
TAIR Aliases: TH-1, TH1, THIE
